2008 QUILT SHOW RULES

    1.        Register quilts by the November 20, 2007 guild meeting.  Each quilt needs a completed 2008 Registration Form and attached color photo. 
              No photographs on paper will be accepted.  Write your name, quilt name and indicate top of quilt on back of photo.

 

2.       2.        Quilts should never have been displayed in Southwest Florida.

 

3.       3.        All quilts must be finished and quilted by hand, by machine, or both, except for tied quilts in the “Other Techniques” category.

 

4.      4.         The quilt must be constructed and quilted by person(s) named on the entry blank.

 

5.       5.        Each entrant may enter seven quilts.  Quilts must be in excellent condition: undamaged, clean, free of stains, odors, and (pet) hair.

 

6.       6.        Quilts may not be cheater cloth, pre-quilted fabrics or framed with wood, metal, etc.

 

7.       7.        Each quilt should have a label with the maker’s name(s) and quilt name in bottom corner of the back.

 

8.      8.         A 4” finished sleeve needs to be sewn on the upper back of the quilt, the full width of the quilt and 1” from the top of the quilt.  Miniature quilts will not need
               this sleeve.

 

9.      9.         Show and Registration chairpersons reserve the right to accept, reject or reclassify quilts if rules are not followed. The show committee has the right to
               combine or  separate categories if one is too small (1 or 2 quilts) or too large (50 quilts).

 

1     10.        All decisions of the judge will be final.  The judge will determine the number and level of ribbons awarded.

 

C    11.        Completed registration forms with photograph may be turned in to Ann Slevin

      12.         This is an open show where non-guild members can enter quilts.  However, non-guild members will be charged a $10 fee for each quilt entered into the show.
                    The $10.00 fee should be turned in with the completed registration form and photograph
 

      Turning in your quilt

          Quilts should be turned in Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Terry Park. The take-in times will be announced later.  Quilts should be picked up Saturday, January 12, 2008
           from the Lee County Civic Center after the show.  Quilts will be taken down, checked to make sure all quilts are accounted for, and returned to the owner in an organized
           manner.  No quilt will be taken down early.  Quilt owners should have their copy of the completed registration form with them.
